Van Halen

Van Halen was an American hard rock band formed in Pasadena, California, in 1973 and built around the extraordinary guitar playing of Eddie Van Halen and the vocals of David Lee Roth. The band became one of the defining hard rock acts of the late 1970s and 1980s, known for explosive riffs, virtuosic lead guitar, and high-energy performances. Major songs include “Jump,” “Panama,” “Runnin' with the Devil,” and “Eruption.” Eddie Van Halen's two-handed tapping technique, phrasing, tone, and approach to rhythm and lead guitar profoundly influenced generations of players. The band's self-titled 1978 debut established a blueprint for guitar-driven hard rock and remains one of the most influential guitar albums of its era.
